We are excited about our
Christian Education opportunities at Wrightsboro UMC that
enable us to be more knowledgeable disciples of Jesus
Christ. We encourage everyone from the very youngest
children to the oldest adult to be involved in our learning
activities. Therefore. we carefully plan to have a variety
of opportunities available including on-going Sunday School
activities, long-term studies and short-term studies.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
We have Sunday School Classes for all ages, nursery through
Adults all of which meet at 9:45 except the one indicated.
Nursery-
from birth to 3 years of age in a well staffed
self-contained classroom.
Preschool-
3 and 4 year olds in a self contained classroom with
qualified teachers.
Elementary
students (K-grade 5) are involved in a curriculum
based on the Rotation Sunday School concept. Biblically
based learning occurs through creative means such as
cooking, drama, video and storytelling. Teachers and
shepherds rotate after a short-term commitment.
Middle
School (grades 6-8) and Senior Highs (grades 9-12)
both have a biblically basic self- contained, discussion
class.
Adult
Sunday School Classes
The Early Class
(meets at 9:15 A.M. ) a discussion class using a variety of
Biblically-based materials
The Mixed
Class a discussion class using short-term Bible
Studies.
Senior
Adult Class- a lecture/discussion group using The
International Bible Lesson
Fellowship
Class- a lecture/discussion group using the Bible.
LONG-TERM BIBLE STUDIES
The Disciple Bible
Course of Study- A year-long commitment for in-depth study
of the Bible with daily readings and study. Led by the
Pastor.
DISCIPLE I-
is the basic course which consists of a 34-week overall
study of the Bible begins in the fall through spring. Taught
every year.
DISCIPLE II
deals with Genesis and Exodus in the Old Testament and Luke
and Acts in the New Testament. DISCIPLE I is a prerequisite.
Taught periodically
DISCIPLE
III deals with the Prophets of the Old Testament
and the Letters of Paul in the New Testament. DISCIPLE I is
a prerequisite. Taught Periodically.
DISCIPLE IV
deals with the “Writings” of the Old Testament, the Gospel
of John and the Book of Revelation in the New Testament.
DISCIPLE I is a prerequisite. Taught Periodically
JESUS IN
THE GOSPELS deals with the life and teachings of
Jesus. Taught Periodically.
SHORT-TERM STUDIES
Designed for small
groups that meet for a defined period of time.
TUESDAY
MORNING MEN’S BIBLE STUDY meets at 7:00 A.M. at
Ruth’s Kitchen. They are studying the Bible, verse by verse
led by the Pastor.
GOING ON
WITH GOD- a women’s Bible Study using The Beth
Moore’s Studies usually during the day and lasting for 10
weeks a
WONDERFUL
WEDNESDAYS- In the Fall and Spring, the church
gathers on Wednesday evening for a meal in the Fellowship
Hall. After the meal, different age groups from children to
adults meet in individual classes led by various persons .
SMALL
GROUPS- Meet in homes at various times usually on a
regular basis. Discussion of a Contemporary book (such as
the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren) or Bible. Led by
different persons throughout the Church.
